Microsoft Business Account
Use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams, Access. You will use Outlook with your existing email account (be it outlook.com, Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, or another).

Need to buy a domain or own a domain. You may need technical knowledge to prove your domain ownership.
Available under the Microsoft Services Agreement Addendum and best suited for businesses that need tools for remote working and collaboration and are comfortable with Microsoft acting as the controller of your data in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Subscribers to services using this option will not have access to individual user content or data until the domain is appended. Subscribers should evaluate data ownership and intellectual property rights based on their own needs. For example, if you’re working with other users on a document stored in their account, they may make those documents unavailable to you. Therefore, you should assess data ownership and intellectual property rights accordingly. In addition, users can choose not to transfer documents from their Easy Sign-Up account to a subscription to your domain account, even after you invite them to do so. This means that their documents may also not be available to you, even if you add a domain account later
Available under the Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement and best suited for businesses that need Microsoft to act as a data processor for their data under the Microsoft Data Protection Amendment and need our full suite of remote working and collaboration tools. Subscribers who work in regulated industries or want more control over your employees’ use of the Services and the processing of relevant Microsoft data should choose Option 2, attach a domain, and register under an enterprise-level domain account agreement.
How To Buy Office 365 Online Subscription
Please note that this option does not provide branded email, administrative control over other users’ use of the Services, or support for industry compliance. Subscribers do not have access or control over the use or documents of other users (employees) under this option. Users may not be able to transfer data created in stores like OneDrive/Teams to your upgraded enterprise-level domain account unless you resolve option 2 immediately.
With this option, you will be able to use Microsoft 365 Exchange as a professional branded email service provider. All your users will have a common domain email address. For example, their username is followed by @contoso.com. You and your users sign in to Microsoft 365 with this new email address. If you follow this process (adding a domain and creating new business email accounts), you will have access to all the features provided in Microsoft 365 Business Standard. For instructions on purchasing or adding a domain, see Install Microsoft 365 Business Standard.
This option provides immediate access to the full set of features in your Microsoft 365 Business subscription, but may require technical steps in advance.
If you want to add a domain and create a business email account, you can follow the steps described in the articles below:
Reasons You Shouldn’t Use A Personal Microsoft Account For A Business Pc
If you previously used the simplified registration method to purchase a business subscription before October 2021 without adding a business domain, you may be required to accept the new terms of service for continued service and use of Microsoft Office programs. When you sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, you may receive emails or see in-app prompts.
The Terms of Use for Simple Registration have recently been updated and specifically explain licensing and data ownership for multi-user business subscriptions. To continue to maintain your business subscription, you can either visit the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and continue to use a simplified registration system (and agree to use the Microsoft Additional Services Agreement), or visit the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and add a business domain (and use Microsoft Services Microsoft Online Agreement). To help you choose which of these two methods best suits your needs, refer to the table at the top of this article.
If you choose not to accept the updated terms for simplified registration or adding a business domain, your subscription will not be automatically renewed and you will lose access to Office programs at the end of your current subscription contract . Your OneDrive data will be stored for 90 days so you can make copies of it, and then it will be deleted.
An email using your own domain name is a business email. For example, if you own a domain name
Brand Your Business
, but you can also have your own email address, such as yourname@contoso.com. This is called a branded business email because it gives your email a professional look.
If you choose to use a domain you already own, you can use it for your email address in Microsoft 365. As part of the registration process, we ask you to verify your domain so that you can send emails through Microsoft 365 .This confirms that you are the owner of the domain sending emails with that person, which increases security and prevents fraud.
If recurring billing is enabled, your subscription will be billed annually on the day you subscribe. You can disable or re-enable it in the admin center while your subscription is active. See Turn recurring billing on or off for details.
